Overview

The Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size vehicle produced by Hyundai, a South Korean automaker. In 1985, the Hyundai Stellar was replaced with the first-generation Hyundai Sonata. The first generation’s poor customer response forced the company to remove it from the market.

Introduced in 1988, the second generation Sonata was a step ahead. This generation was offered throughout North America, Europe, and Canada in addition to domestically. The automobile, which used a Mitsubishi engine, was well accepted by consumers. In 1999, it had a mid-term cosmetic makeover. 

1993 saw the release of the third-generation Sonata, which has a 2.0-liter engine. With minor external changes, it was marketed as Marcia overseas and as Sonata in South Korea. In 1996, the third-generation Sonata underwent a makeover that included changes to the engine, front, and rear ends.

Hyundai Sonata Exterior

The eighth generation Hyundai Sonata from 2024 is renowned for its distinctive and cutting-edge style. Hyundai has dubbed the 2019 Sonata “Sensuous Sportiness” due to its fastback-like design. The car’s front end is adorned with a svelte, narrow grille and LED projector headlamps that extend the length of the bonnet. Front parking sensors and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are also located on the front.
